Change is Good – New Logo & Website

We’re very excited to launch our new branding. We’ve been working on the idea of freshening up our image since late last year. In fact, we have a bunch of ideas in our minds about how to change Sorlie Arts for the better moving forward. When we started over a year ago now, designing a logo was a few sketches, a tweak here and there and then we were done. We ordered the business cards and went with it.

This time around, we opted to take a bit more time and with our friends at Thain Creative (amazing branding company for those interested), we came up with this logo…

We had a funny incident happen while this logo was in the works.  We had a few concepts on the go so I decided to put my favourite (at the time) idea on Facebook. After 23 replies (thank you all by the way), we discovered that our ‘E’ in Sorlie had looked a bit too much like an ‘F’ and well – you can figure out what happened there – Sorlie Fa- well – you get the idea…  Laugh all you want!  I can take it!

This new branding along with our newly renovated website is part of our goal to be accessible and easily understood.  We found that our old website was a bit too busy – hopefully this one will help those who are looking for our wedding films to find what they are looking for while those who are looking for our corporate video will also find what they are looking for.

We are actually working on a brand new company that will be the home to our wedding films while Sorlie Arts will focus on the business/corporate side of things. Stay tuned for more on that. We are pretty anxious to share our new company with you when it’s all ready.  Thain Creative is helping us with that as well.

And as if that change was not enough!  We have started filming with the Canon Eos 5D Mark II HD SLR camera.  We still love our Canon XH-A1S video camera, but we found that we need to make the jump to this smaller, compact still camera that takes video to the next level.  The fact that you can change lenses on the go gives us the opportunity to provide the stunning visual quality we aim for.  You will start to see more and more clips in the next little while that feature the new camera including this house tour and this promo video.
