Pie – Wood Fire Pizza Joint – Update!

We are very excited about the tremendous success that the new restaurant Pie is having since opening in January.  As you may have seen, Sorlie Arts created a video that has been seen literally across the globe!  The video, which you can see below, shows the installation of the restaurant’s Wood Fire Pizza Oven.  With over 4000 views on this website alone in the last month, along with views through links from US websites and even some in Europe, Pie has been gaining incredible exposure in part thanks to the video we created.  If you haven’t yet been to Pie, we highly recommend you give it a try.  The pizza is remarkable, but I’ve never enjoyed wings more than tasting them right out of the Wood Fire Pizza Oven!

If you’ve lived in Barrie for any length of time, you’ve quite likely enjoyed the fine dining experience at Oscar’s Restaurant.  Well after 10 years of running Oscar’s, owner Randy Feltis decided to take on a new challenge and has just opened Pie.  A Wood Fire Pizza Joint in Barrie’s South End.  This restaurant features an authentic Italian Wood Fire Pizza Oven that was shipped across the ocean and weighs over 3,000 pounds.  This oven is designed to reach internal temperatures of 800 Degrees Celsius!  It can cook a pizza in 90 seconds!!!  Randy was kind enough to make Emily and I a pizza or two.  All we can say is you have to try this stuff.

This video shows how the pizza oven was built and gives a bit of the feel of the restaurant.  Make sure to visit http://www.eatmypie.ca.  You’ll thank us later ;)

We made a really fun video with Randy a few months ago for the Barrie Chamber of Commerce Awards Night – you can catch him in our Blooper Reel here.

Hiring Andrew & Emily was one of the best decisions we made!!

First of all, let me just say that Andrew & Emily are AMAZING wedding film makers!! I’m sure you can already tell from the videos on their website what kind of work they are capable of doing. I know when I stumbled upon their site and saw one of their wedding videos I started crying at my desk! And then I promptly emailed my fiance and told him this is who I want to film our day. Anyone that knows me knows that I am obsessed with pictures and capturing every special moment. So our wedding film was very important to me as a bride. I always felt that a good wedding film could potentially help a couple weather some of the storms of married life. Although I can’t picture it now, I’m sure a day will come when I am not so madly in love with my husband and we’ve just had a big argument, and I can see myself putting on our film, and reliving our special day, and remembering all the reasons why he’s the one I chose to spend the rest of my life with which would put things into perspective again.

The other thing that I wanted to say is that the part that you can’t see from Andrew & Emily’s website is what amazing & professional people they are to work with!! So many guests at our wedding that got a chance to talk to them, came up to us and told us how great they were. (Which came as no surprise to us!) We really felt like they truly cared about capturing our day. They didn’t treat it like a “job”. Even though we had just met them, it felt like they treated us as friends, and did their very best to do capture all the details of our day. And they went above and beyond the call of duty, helping our out of province photographers find cute places to take picture of us, and helping them with their camera settings. Like I said, they didn’t treat it as a contractual obligation. They really acted like caring friends, which we really appreacited.

In conclusion, hiring Andrew & Emily was one of the best decisions we made!!
