We filmed Katie & Bryan’s Wedding Video in August of 2009. What a fantastic couple. Here’s the first three minutes of their wedding film by Sorlie Arts. If you’re looking for a wedding video in Barrie, Ontario or in Toronto or even the Muskoka region, give Sorlie Arts a call. We would love to film your wedding in 2010.
Sorlie Arts took a trip down to Texas for some education and inspiration at the first ever [in]focus video event. It was even more impacting than we could ever have imagined. Emily and I made great new friends, learned a tonne of technique and came back with an even greater passion for what we do. Can’t wait to put everything we learned into practice. A good friend of ours – Aaron Tharpe from 31Films in Houston, Texas made three short recap videos that highlight a bit of what happened at the event.
This last video made by a new friend of ours from New Mexico (we call him Vlad)
If you are curious about the goings on of the event – check out http://www.infocusvideoevent.net where you can find all of the seminars that we attended online.
Tony Perrin is a fantastic DJ. One of the Bride’s he had the opportunity to work for this past summer had this to say: “We were so lucky to have Tony at our wedding back in August ’09. Tony was so personable to work with before the wedding in preparation for our reception dance! We had a blast and our guests had a great time – many even made comments long after the party was over!” If you are looking for an amazing wedding DJ in Barrie, Muskoka or even in the GTA, Tony Perrin from Push Play Entertainment is your best bet! Watch this video and get to know Tony a bit. Be sure to visit his website http://www.pushplaydj.ca.
If you are interested in a Corporate Promotional Video for your Website , or a Web Video of any kind – please contact us at info@sorliearts.com or (705) 727-1547. We would love to tell your story in High Definition.
Tomorrow we head off to Austin…. Emily and I are both very excited about what we’re going to learn in Texas surrounded by some of the world’s great cinematographers and editors. We’ve been planning this trip for quite some time now and we’ll have a great time, that’s for sure. But some people are asking, why are you guys going? What are you hoping to learn? If you break down what Sorlie Arts is all about, you’d probably find that we make wedding videos in Barrie, Ontario. But we think our wedding videos are more like mini films. We actually call ourselves Barrie’s Wedding Filmmakers. Now, we say Barrie because that is where we live, but we would certainly love to work with couples who are getting married up north in Muskoka or even in Toronto and the rest of the GTA. In fact, we have 6 weddings this year that are not in Barrie. We do travel for some of our weddings.
What’s the difference between a wedding video and a wedding film?
Well, there is no recipe or template for a wedding film. It’s about your story. What happened on the day. We look for things that are interesting that you would want to remember – or maybe that you didn’t even see. Where as with a wedding video – it’s pretty simple. The camera goes up on a tripod, the record button is pressed, you walk down the aisle and maybe you get a speech or two recorded. You will then get a DVD and you will probably watch it once. But ask your friends to sit down with you and watch it more than once – we’ll see if they return your calls! (kidding – but not really).
What Sorlie Arts does is creates documentary like film about the events of your day. We use professional HD cameras and other tools that are being used in Hollywood to produce Wedding Films. Our ‘Main Feature’ doesn’t actually include the entire ceremony or the speeches. Who wants to sit through that every time? We add highlights and put the pieces together, through in a couple of great songs that you can pick if you like and the result is pretty fantastic.
You have the option of having your ceremony & speeches unedited as a separate option on your DVD menu – which is great because you can watch them whenever you want but your friends and family can be spared if they need to be
Have a look at some of our highlight clips – they will give you the look and feel of our wedding cinematography.
We only get to work with a handful of couples each year and we take our time to make sure their story is unique.
We would love to sit down with you and discuss turning your wedding video expectations into wedding film excitement.
